Jon Stewart Says Donald Trump “Is Like A Corruption Mr. Magoo” & Wants To Know Why Jerry Seinfeld Is “Taking So Much Sh**”
Jon Stewart was back on The Daily Show and compared Donald Trump to Mr. Magoo as the hush money trial continues.
Michael Cohen wrapped up his testimony and admitted he had stolen from the Trump Organization, which prompted Stewart to compare the former POTUS to the animated character.
“How lucky is Donald Trump?” Stewart said. “Donald Trump is like a corruption Mr. Magoo. He’s just stumbling around, quid pro quo-ing, metal beams falling all around him [and] gets out completely unscathed.”
Mr. Magoo is a fictional character who appeared in the UPA animated series Mister Magoo, voiced by Jim Backus. The character is an elderly, wealthy retiree who gets into comical situations and, through sheer luck, always finds himself unharmed.
Trump is on trial and faces 34 felony charges of falsifying business records to conceal other crimes. All of this was to payments made to adult film star Stormy Daniels to silence her amid the 2016 U.S. presidential election.
Stewart also took on Harrison Butker’s controversial commencement speech, which went all the way to the White House, as a member of the press inquired if the Kansas City Chiefs kicker would still be welcomed. This is all prefaced to comment on the idea of cancel culture fueled by conservatives and conservative media.
The Comedy Central host also took offense to people calling out Jerry Seinfeld amid his promo tour for Unfrosted, the Netflix film about Pop-Tarts.
“Jerry Seinfeld took more shit over the past two weeks promoting a Pop-Tart movie than Harrison Butker for his entire speech,” Stewart said. “And I ask you people, What is the deal with that? I legitimately would like to know why he’s taking so much shit about everything from everybody. And who are these people?”
Seinfeld was recently heckled at a comedy show in Virginia by a pro-Palestenian protestor. The comedian also delivered a commencement speech at Duke University, where dozens of people walked out when he took the podium.
