Pink came out in support of Britney Spears in a subtle but meaningful way while onstage amid the news of her split from Sam Asghari.
On Wednesday night (August 16), the “Trust a Try” singer updated the lyrics to her song “Don’t Let Me Get Me” while performing on her Summer Carnival Tour.
If you forgot, the 2001 song addresses comparisons between Britney and Pink. One small change elicited a reaction from fans in the audience and made it clear that she was Team Spears.

“Tired of being compared to damn Britney Spears / She’s so pretty / That just ain’t me,” Pink sings on the original song. The updated lyric changed the reference to “sweet Britney Spears.”
In a video from the performance, fans in the audience could be heard positively reacting to the update.
Earlier in the day on Wednesday, reports began circulating that Britney and Sam had split after just over a year of marriage. Sam reportedly filed for divorce, and one of Britney‘s family members seemingly reacted to the news.
Britney also took to social media, but she did not address the rumors.
