Look Back Prime Video Release Date Set for Anime Movie’s Streaming Debut
Among several highly anticipated upcoming Prime Video movies and TV shows comes the Look Back anime movie, which has finally found its streaming release date. Fortunately, fans of Tatsuki Fujimoto’s work won’t have to wait long to stream director Kiyotaka Oshiyama’s new movie from the comfort of their homes.
Prime Video sets November 2024 release date for Look Back anime movie
Releasing on October 4, the animated drama opened with $690,171 and made over $1.8 million by the end of its domestic run. It proved to be an even bigger global success, bringing in almost $12 million (via Box Office Mojo). Following Look Back’s box office success, Prime Video has set a November 7, 2024 release date for it.
Based on the Chainsaw Man creator Tatsuki Fujimoto’s one-shot web manga, Look Back is centered on a talented young artist Ayumu Fujino, who is celebrated for creating funny comics for her school’s newspaper. Coming across Kyomoto, an introvert with superior art skills, Fujino feels challenged. But eventually, the two bond through their artistic talents and start working together as manga artists.

The official synopsis of Kiyotaka Oshiyama’s Look Back reads:
“Popular, outgoing Fujino is celebrated by her classmates for her funny comics in the class newspaper. One day, her teacher asks her to share the space with Kyomoto, a truant recluse whose beautiful artwork sparks a competitive fervor in Fujino.”
The synopsis continues:
“What starts as jealousy transforms when Fujino realizes their shared passion for drawing…[The film] captures the highs and lows of pursuing artistic excellence and the special bonds formed through creative collaboration.”
Directed by Kiyotaka Oshiyama, who also wrote the film alongside Tatsuki Fujimoto, Look Back stars Yumi Kawai as Fujino’s voice. She is joined by Mizuki Yoshida, who voices Kyomoto.
