After Taylor Swift attended her first Kansas City Chiefs football game to watch Travis Kelce play, she was seen leaving the stadium with him and they drove off in a convertible together.

Some fans were surprised that the two stars didn’t leave the stadium together again when she attended the Chiefs’ game against the New York Jets on Sunday (October 1) at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J.

There’s a good explanation though and it makes a lot of sense.

In addition to the fact that Taylor was joined by a huge group of her closest friends at the game and likely didn’t want to leave without them, Travis likely wasn’t allowed to leave with her this time.

When NFL teams travel for away games, the entire team usually leaves the stadium together on the team bus and almost always flies home directly after the game.

In a video segment that CBS Mornings posted eight years ago, they showed the behind-the-scenes process of what happened when an NFL team goes on the road. Teams were packed up and out of the stadium just 45 minutes after the games ended!

Travis seemed to be following protocol by leaving the stadium with his team this time. There likely will be plenty of other opportunities for him to meet up with Taylor though!
