Haunted House Vlogger Horror ‘Chateau’ Trailer Starring Cathy Marks

“Do you want us here?” Quiver Distribution has posted the trailer for an indie horror called Chateau, the second feature from filmmaker Luke Genton. This first premiered at the 2024 Popcorn Frights Film Festival this year and will be out on VOD to watch at home in December. “Vacation is all about escape.” While on a French vacation funded by odd jobs, an aspiring influencer covertly films a vlog in a reportedly haunted chateau she’s been hired to clean. This found footage horror follows two influencer idiots getting a real scare when they discover this chateau is actually, really haunted. Starring Cathy Marks and Coltron Tran as the main duo. This isn’t a particularity original concept – there’s also Deadstream which this film seems to be borrowing from, not to mention Rob Savage’s Dashcam, and other horror that is about people going into a haunted house that they think isn’t real and nothing will be there. But oh yes there is something in there…

In this found footage/screenlife thriller, an aspiring influencer named James is hired to clean a reportedly haunted chateau while on a French vacation funded by odd jobs. With unrestricted access to a property that is normally closed to the public, she sees an opportunity to covertly film a vlog that could result in an influx of followers. While investigating a series of disappearances linked to the residence, James uncovers a chilling truth: those who perish there remain trapped inside the chateau. And now they want their story told… Chateau is written and directed by American indie genre filmmaker / writer Luke Genton, director of the film The Bone Box previously and one other short film, plus a writer on a few other films. Produced by Colton Tran. This initially premiered at the 2024 Popcorn Fights Film Festival this year. Quiver Distr. will debut Genton’s Chateau horror film direct-to-VOD starting on December 6th, 2024 this fall. Look scary?
