Anne Hathaway Apologized to Kjersti Flaa for Viral 2012 Interview, Explained What Was Happening Privately | Anne Hathaway, Kjersti Flaa | Just Jared: Celebrity News and Gossip

Norwegian entertainment journalist Kjersti Flaa is revealing an update to that Anne Hathaway story.

Kjersti shared a video over the weekend of her 2012 interview with Anne during the press tour for Les Miserables. In the resurfaced interview, Kjersti threw out an idea that she and Anne could sing interview questions and answers back-and-forth. Anne said “no” to that idea on her end. Later in the interview, there were some curt answers.

“Do you feel that love was more passionate back then, or people sacrifice more for love than we do today?” Kjersti asked, to which Anne said, “No.” She was then asked, “Do you remember your first crush?” and Anne again responded, “No.”

Now, Kjersti is revealing that Anne saw the video clips and personally reached out.

Kjersti said in the update, “Yesterday I did receive an email. It was from Anne Hathaway‘s publicist, and he forwarded a message to me from Anne Hathaway. I have to say, I was pretty shocked. I had not expected her to reach out to me at all. I thought she was never gonna even see that video, but she did. And she did something pretty amazing.”

“She sent me a long email explaining to me what she was going through right then when she did this interview, and she apologized for being…giving me an awful interview, basically. It was so touching to me. Just talking about it makes me almost teary eyed, ’cause I was just so grateful that she did that,” she added.

You won’t be hearing what exactly was in that note, though. She shared, “we decided that I wouldn’t share exactly what was in the email, but I just wanted to share with you guys what she did.”

Anne won an Oscar in 2013 for her work in Les Mis, but previously shared that she was not happy at that time.
