Kyte Baby Slumber Suits recalled over fire risk—here’s what parents need to do
If you’re a fan of Kyte Baby’s cozy bamboo sleepwear, there’s an important update you should know about. The brand has recently issued a recall on its popular Slumber Suits due to non-compliance with federal flammability standards for children’s sleepwear. Approximately 20,500 Slumber Suits are affected and may pose a fire risk if exposed to an open flame.
Although no injuries have been reported, Kyte Baby urges families to take action. Here’s what you need to know to keep your child safe and the steps to take if you own a recalled suit.
How to find out if your slumber suit is affected
If you have a Kyte Baby Slumber Suit, here’s what to check:
- Sizes recalled: Medium (M), Large (L), and Extra Large (XL)
- Colors: Midnight, Taro, Slate, Sage, Blush, Cloud, Alpine Village, Crepe, Racoon, Jurassic, Eucalyptus, Blue Heron, Cloud Poppies, Haze, Midnight Poppies, and Coastline
- Label: Look for “Kyte Baby,” the size, “Made in China,” and care instructions on the inside neck label
These suits were sold online on kytebaby.com from November 2022 to March 2024 for about $75.
What to do if you own a recalled suit
If you have one of these Slumber Suits, stop using it immediately. Kyte Baby will guide you through returning or safely destroying the suit, with free return shipping provided. Important safety information
Federal regulations require children’s sleepwear to contain flame retardants or be tight-fitting to reduce fire risks. Although Kyte Baby’s Slumber Suits are classified as wearable blankets and thus fall outside these regulations, Kyte Baby recommends discontinuing their use entirely—even for daytime wear.
If you own a similar item not listed in the recall but want to confirm, please get in touch with Kyte Baby. Additionally, the brand has stated on its Facebook page that it does not plan to reintroduce the Slumber Suit style in the future.
