Baywatch’s Michael Newman Passes Away at 68, Friend Reveals His Cause of Death | Michael Newman, RIP | Just Jared: Celebrity News and Gossip
Baywatch actor Michael Newman, who appeared in 150 episodes of hit 90s TV series, has sadly passed away.
The 68-year-old actor passed “from heart complications” on Sunday (October 20) “surrounded by his family and friends,” his friend, Matt Felker, told People.
“I got to see Mike the last time he was conscious and he looked [at] me and in typical Mike fashion said, ‘You’re just in time,’” Matt added.
Michael portrayed lifeguard Mike “Newmie” Newman on Baywatch – and he was actually a real-life lifeguard at the time. He was also a firefighter.
He also had come forward with his diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease, and spent his last few years sharing more about the illness, saying that he hoped “the telling of my personal story brings awareness to the importance of finding a Parkinson’s cure.”
Our thoughts are with Michael Newman‘s friends, family, and loved ones. RIP.
