CAA’s Century City Headquarters Evacuated Over “Security Threat” – Deadline

CAA‘s headquarters in Century City has been evacuated after threatening phone call was made to the uber-agency Thursday, prompting the quick exit of all from the building at 2000 Avenue of the Stars.

Los Angeles police are on the scene as all of the staffers have left the offices of the agency led by Bryan Lourd, Kevin Huvane and Richard Lovett.

“It’s a crazy f*cked-up world and it hit us today,” one CAA employee warily told Deadline this afternoon.

While a few senior staffers may re-enter the offices after they get the all-clear from security and the police, the day is done for most at the agency today.

“CAA Global Safety & Security has confirmed that the Los Angeles CAA offices have received a security threat,” reads an internal email sent to staffers this afternoon. “You safety is our top priority. While the threat is being investigated for its credibility, out of an abundance of caution, we are closing the Los Angeles offices. Please proceed home and encourage those who are able to utilize the stairs to do so as there may be congestions with the elevators.”

There was a similar incident at the building in 2015, when LAPD investigated a suspicious package dropped at a bank there. No bomb was found, but the parcel contained “an unknown liquid,” police said then. The incident then became a hazmat issue.

Back in pre-lockdown 2020, the CAA building was evacuated because of a gas leak.

UTA’s Beverly Hills HQ was evacuated in July 2022 over a perceived bomb threat in the form of a suspicious package, and WME’s Los Angeles office building was cleared in 2018 as police checked out a suspicious package there.
