Jenni Rivera Dead: Mexican-American Singer Dies In Plane Crash
So sad. Singer Jenni Rivera was killed in a plane crash, shortly after its take off on Dec. 9. There were no survivors on board.
Jenni Rivera, known as the “Diva of Banda” with over 20 million albums sold worldwide and recently named one of People En Español’s 25 most powerful women, was tragically killed in a plane crash in Nuevo Leon state, Mexico on Sunday Dec. 9.
Mexican authorities confirmed Sunday evening that the wreckage of the Learjet was found and there were no survivors of the seven people who were on board, according to People.
Following Jenni’s concert in Monterrey, Mexico, the small plane took off at 3:15AM, but crashed shortly thereafter when it lost contact with air traffic controllers.
On top of being a world renowned singer, Jenni was the star of I Love Jenni, a reality show documenting the singer’s life as an entertainer and mother of five children.
Jenni’s publicist, lawyer and makeup artist were also killed in the crash.
Earlier this month, Jenni signed on to her very own ABC comedy. The self-titled Jenni would feature her as a strong, middle-class, single Latina woman working to raise a family using unique parenting skills, according to HollywoodLife.com sister site Deadline.
